Prior to joining the S²TEM Centers SC, Jodi taught in both Virginia and South Carolina and had the unique experience of teaching at every grade level k-12. She has experience as an education associate at the South Carolina Department of Education. She also worked as a school administrator in both South Carolina and Virginia.
Jodi’s degrees include a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Millersville University in Pennsylvania, a Masters of Education in Special Education from Old Dominion University in Virginia, and an Ed.S. in Administration and Supervision from the University of Virginia. In the state of South Carolina she is highly qualified to teach PK-2, elementary, middle school science, and special education for students with learning disabilities K-12. She is also a certified administrator in grades K-12 and holds an endorsement to teach gifted and talented students.
Jodi’s current STEM interests include environmental and outdoor education, 3-D printing, and helping students learn strong inquiry skills. She is also interested in how STEM skills and project-based learning assists in the development of cross-curricular career readiness. She has been actively involved with projects that help students experience first hand how STEM is used in the workforce.
