iDEAL (Integrating Disciplinary Experiences Around Literacy) - A Read to Succeed Content Area Reading and Writing Innovation
These Read to Succeed 60-hour Professional Development Courses offer a comprehensive, multi-layered course of study focused on disciplinary literacy in STE(A)M- Approved by the South Carolina State Department of Education. Designed and facilitated by SCCMS / S²TEM Centers.
R2S - iDEAL is based on the findings of our Inquiring Minds – Reading to Learn and Innovate (IQ-MS) research project funded by Boeing SC with matching support from BMW Manufacturing Co. and the state of South Carolina. IQ-MS experimental schools outperformed control schools on state assessment measures in science, mathematics and ELA.
