Yolanda Felder has been with S²TEM Centers SC since March 2000 as an Administrative Specialist for the Midlands area. In her expertise, she formulates balance statements and allocates budget funds granted and liquidated. She also prepares purchase orders, monitors receipts of orders and oversees requisitions and budget distributions and amendments. She coordinates all logistics related to S²TEM Centers SC offerings and travel. Throughout her years with the Centers, she has acquired the skills of continuous innovative learning. Yolanda believes that this era is a period where technology is forever evolving so she continues to strive to stay “above the fray”.
Yolanda's work experience began in 1994 as an assistant in the Financial Aid Office at Claflin College where she learned to budget and calculate student balances and eventually became a Direct Loan Counselor. After 4 years of working in Financial Aid, she ventured to Voorhees College where she was an Administrative Specialist for Title III. There, she maintained computerized spreadsheets of all Title III Grant expenditures and disseminated monthly statements. In less than a year, Yolanda received a promotion to coordinate the Lilly Grant and supervise the Electronic Classroom. This was a great benefit for her because she learned various software packages which in turn gave her an advantage when applying for a position with the Bamberg-Calhoun-Orangeburg Math/Science Hub (presently known as Midlands S²TEM Center).
Yolanda received a B.S. in Business Administration with a minor in Accounting from Claflin College and a Master of Business Administration from Strayer University. In 2012, she decided to enter the Master of Arts in Teaching program in Elementary Education at South Carolina State University. Yolanda is one who reaches for perfection and success. She does not only look for herself to succeed but she embraces her environment and the people she works with and sees A UNIT OF SUCCESS.
