It gave me ideas to start the conversation with my faculty. I think many of these processes can be used across the board! |
This experience helped me to further my goals better preparing me to implement the strategies and ideas using tools that were "user" friendly. |
It provided me with a resource that can be used to aid in the process of problem solving. I plan to incorporate this information not only during the lessons but in all situations of teaching. |
This is going to help us greatly with our goal of being a STEAM school. It will help us integrate math, science, and engineering. |
I'm not a coach but it helped me consider my student's mindsets and think of ways to adapt instruction to them. Always looking for innovation and fresh ideas! Learning is for adults as well as students. |
As an educator, I am constantly striving to become a better instructional coach and am looking for quality professional reads. This experience has given me a lot of strategies, resources and tools that I can take back and implement immediately. |
The strategies were very helpful and appreciate the connections they made. |
Absolutely dynamic professional development. I really enjoy the strategies to use in the classroom and the networking. |
It got me thinking about how I need to change my mindset to make the changes in my classroom. Specifically trust in others and process. We are making the transition to a more STEM based program. The collaboration strategies are huge and will help me make those discussions / activities more meaningful. Thank you! I have lots things to take back and share with colleagues. |
I hope to take away tips to improve communication and to inspire my team...I have 2 or 3 things that I can do immediately when I return. More clearly articulate (1) expectations for collaboration to my team;(2) the value of collaboration to my team; (3) the value of becoming a STEM school. |
This has given me the knowledge to try and slowly implement STEM across the entire curriculum. I will be able to provide better PD for the district's Math teachers and help make sure the right supports are available at the district and the schools. |
I am going to use these assessment strategies, problem-based learning techniques and other various resorces in my school to make teaching and learning more fun and effective. |
I was amazed on how you can implement engineering. I now have a sound idea of what engineering is. I can use this information to enlighten my grade level team and then allow it to spread throughout the school. |
The sessions challenged me to analyze my classroom strategies and practice more thoroughly. |
Gave me more knowledge to be a leader in science instruction to collaborate/monitor best practices/oversee science instruction in the building Great job Greg! Superb experience! |
My goal is to be a role model for teaching STEM-based PBL for other teachers and I've gained more tools, resources and contacts to work toward this goal. |
Provided more interactive (collaborative) activities. Assisted the teachers with more diversified strategies The instructor was awesome and very helpful to all of us. |
It has made me create lessons to help my students learn how to be better problem solvers. I am going to use the vocabulary ideas to help me broaden my students vocabulary when explaining their work. |
I have acquired a repertoire of strategies that I can use in my classroom. It was my first experience completing a totally online class. The work was challenging but enjoyable. |
My goal was to learn how to implement the mathematical practices of CCSS into the Montessori curriculum. This PD has given me clear and practical tools with which to do this. I'm excited! I have already used the activities with my 4th and 5th graders. They love the social aspect and having some control over how they solve problems as individuals. I think every math teacher would benefit from this! |
This PD helped me realize how necessary it is to use hands-on manipulatives and real world problems to teach mathematics. It also shows how to facilitate learning and scaffold through tasks and professional notebooks. |
The Professional Learning Experience caused me to look more closely at the work I required form my students. I want students to connect what they're doing in real life situations. I've shared many lessons, activities and technology ideas with the staff at my school. My students love the work we've done. Real world problem solving motivates my students to get involved and participate. |
It taught me more about getting students to think deeper and see the relevance of math in real life. |
Many resources were used and discussed throughout this course. It was very nice to use a different lesson planning template to align lesson goals with state standard. I will actually be keeping this lesson planning template to incorporate in the upcoming years. |
This session helped to extend my fluency about changes in the state science standards for the 2014-2015 school year and beyond. Working with Amy and Kenna always rejuvenates my focus on science and math education. There is always something I can easily incorporate or take back to share with my co-workers. |
Assisting other teachers in implementing best practices. |
I will use more group collaboration and problem solving experiences. |
I would like to change my perspective on how to teach today's students for tomorrow's world and I feel that I am much more prepared to begin working toward this. I hope to continually increase my focus on STEM content methods in the classroom and the information provide through iSTEM was structured to support this goal. |
It gave me tools with which to work. I will use more life situations in my math problems. |
It provided the conversations necessary for teachers to look at teaching in a new and/or forgotten way. I was more open to the idea of allowing students to become more independent in discovering new ideas and solutions to problems while learning to work together. |
It helped me to see the need to emphasize engineering and technology. |
The conversations forced me to reflect my own principles and question am I truly prepared to implement CCSS in my classroom confidently. |
Made me rethink how I present material in a challenging way. Thank you! Today was very helpful! |
Helped me understand that incorporating literacy won't be as hard as I was afraid it would be. |
It made me aware of coming changes. I will implement more STEM. Thank you for incorporating activities I can actually use. |
It motivated me to incorporate more STEM into my classroom. I will use the carousel in my classroom. |
It is one of the best professional development I have attended lately. It helped me understand the importance of read alouds for Generation Z and what strategies I can use to best reach Gen Z students. |
I can use several strategies to promote student learning. Alternative ways to involve all students in the learning process. The silent debate will be good for my students who have selective autism. |
This learning experience gave me a greater understanding on the differences between science and engineering and how they can be leveraged in the classroom. |
Outstanding way of introducing the staff to STEM and Inquiry learning. |
This was very informative! We need more information like this! Our facilitator had an understanding of our jobs in the classroom; therefore, her resources were meaningful. |
The teachers were motivated to use writing more in the class room and provided the tools to use immediately from the PD. |
This experience has provided resources and support to all of our teachers. They have had the opportunity to collaborate, develop, and analyze resources and lessons to better suit their students. This has helped us reach our STEM goals for the school each year for the past two years. |
Through our STEM training this provided a framework for our teachers to begin thinking of their roll in science education and STEM related areas. |
This professional development gave teachers the better understanding of how to organize their lessons to integrate STEM across the curriculum and design inquiry based learning. The teachers are better prepared to design, develop, and implement STEM lessons and collaborate together to create cohesive units of study. This program has been instrumental in changing the practices of our teachers to meet the needs of our students and our global society. |
