Math Forward SC Programs
S²TEM Centers SC has several programs to support mathematics instruction in S.C. public schools. These offerings include high-quality professional development centered around standards-based content, effective instructional practices and positive teacher perception of mathematics teaching and learning. Most of the offerings have an option for a year-long commitment to pair teacher participants with a S²TEM Centers SC Education Specialist for on-going coaching to support classroom implementation of best practices.

S²TEM Centers Math Institute: Growing Teacher Leaders for Grades 3-5
Overview
This opportunity provides teachers of mathematics for Grades 3-5 with professional development and on-going coaching support to build teacher confidence in implementing evidence-based strategies in the elementary classroom. This pilot project is designed to engage with teacher teams composed of at least three teachers from a school during the 25-26 school year.

Mapping Shifts & Impacting Practice in the K-8 Mathematics Classroom
Overview
This opportunity provides teachers of mathematics in grades K-8 with professional development and on-going coaching support to build teacher confidence in implementing the 2025 South Carolina College and Career Ready (SCCCR) Mathematics Standards. Professional learning will focus on teacher understanding of shifts between the 2015 and 2025 SCCCR Mathematics Standards. Additionally, the professional development content is delivered through the lens of effective teaching practices and instructional strategies which support student learning of mathematics.

Equipping Instructional Coaches to Support Mathematics with Cognitive Coaching℠
Overview
This opportunity combines the Cognitive Coaching℠ 8-day seminar with customized follow-up support to accelerate growth for instructional coaches who support teachers of K-12 mathematics. As a pilot project, this professional development aims to empower coaches who will then lead teachers in taking action to plan for and reflect on improving mathematics teaching and learning in their classrooms.
